How to get there

Plane, train, tram & car

Public transport in Bremen is efficient and highly recommended.

Unless you arrive late evening at Airport Bremen, it is recommended to take the tram (“Straßenbahn”) line no. 6 with direction “Universität” to the city center (Central Station = “Hauptbahnhof”), this trip takes 16 min.

The trip with the same tram line no. 6 from “Hauptbahnhof” to the final station “Universität-Nord” takes 14 minutes. From there, it is a 200 m walk to the MARUM building, Leobener Str. 8 (see Campus Map).

The tram tickets can be purchased on the tram (big blue box in the front part of the train), a single ticket is ~ € 2.80. At the airport you will also find ticket machines at the tram stop.

A taxi from Bremen Airport to the University costs around € 25-30. It will take approximately 20 minutes, depending on the traffic. Taxis are in front of the airport and the Central Station.

Car parks: A limited number of car parks is available at the University Campus (MARUM) for € 1/hour. Two more underground garages are at the end of Badgasteiner Straße and Enrique-Schmidt-Strasse, € 1.50/hour.
